Hiking

For Memorial Day weekend we went to Wintergreen. The first day was nice and sunny, we hangout at Wintergreen resort. They had a Arts and Crafts festival and live music.

The second day we took Matthew for a little hike.  It was a little cooler and since I had planned for warmer weather Matthew had to go hiking on his pijamas to keep his toes warm.

He did OK during the hike, daddy in the other hand was exhausted!

Matthew was 6 and half months old.

Fort Lauderdale

We visit Fort Lauderdale at the begining of May. We enjoyed the beach, the weather and being away.

Life is tough!Life is tough!

We will get to the beach early and camp for the day under a umbrella. We had a little tent for Matthew to take naps. He liked the ocean and the sand.  He was a little hesitant with the ocean I think it was too loud for him. The sand was a interesting, he wanted to eat it and it got everywhere!!!

Hugh got to go scuba diving while a met with my friend Martha that lives in Palm Beach.  We also got to see my friend Kate that lives in Fort Pierce.

A good vacation!

Costa Rica trip

We went to Costa Rica for 3 weeks in March.  Hugh was there for 2 weeks and Matthew and I stayed an extra week. Matthew was 4 months old.

It was very hot ...  quite a shocker after leaving Richmond covered with Snow. Matthew did fairly well in the heat but we had to find ways to keep him cool (houses don't have AC). For the most part this was a family trip to introduce Matthew.  However we managed to go for 3 days to Quepos which is a town close to Manuel Antonio National Park but in reality with such a small baby there is just so much that you can do.

Matthew was, hands down, a good traveller! This was a test for vacations to come and he sort of knew it  because he did really well.

First Day In Costa Rica

We spent our first day in Costa Rica yesterday. Our flight was uneventful, and arrived in San Jose 20 minutes early!

Tatiana´s brother Pablo is kind enough to host us at his house in San Jose for the first night. He has a really nice house that he just bought about a year ago. The construction is very "Costa Rican" - very open with lots of windows to let the breeze through, and tile flooring everywhere. The back yard goes on forever, and there are lots of native Mango and Mandarin Orange trees in the yard.

We´ll be staying in San Jose for a couple more days, but are going to stay at Tatiana´s brother Fabio´s house tonight.

Matthews first plane ride

Matthews first plane ride

Matthew had his first plane ride ever yesterday! He was really good, and just slept and looked around at the other passengers. We were worried that his ears would bother him, but he didn´t have any problems. Basically, he was the same as always, happy and enjoying everything going on around him.

It is a boy!!!!

The baby arrived 2 weeks early and we were not quite sure about boy's names.  It took us a couple of days to come to a decision.

We are using Morales as the middle name.

The labor story

I really can't make a long story short but I am going to try ... our baby decided to come to the world 2 weeks early.

My due date was November 12th. Baby was born on October 30th at 2:56am by c-section (more ...)

I am taking bids on "D" day and the number of hours in labor

We had a doctors'appointment this morning (10/22/08) and there is no progress so far.  I am 37 weeks.

So ... does anybody care to make a bid on the "date" and estimated hours of labor.  Send happy thoughts!!!  Just add a comment to this story
